Binh Duong Provincial Military Command in a training session
On April 22, 2025, Nam Viet Telecommunications Equipment Co., Ltd. successfully delivered 6 Thuraya X5 Touch satellite phones to the Binh Duong Rescue Team under the Binh Duong Provincial Military Command. The handover ceremony took place at the Provincial Reserve Training Center, chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Nam – Head of Operations.
The equipping of satellite phones is part of Plan 142/KH-UBND to enhance search and rescue capabilities in the Southeastern region, in response to the anticipated complex storm situation in the 2025 rainy season. All 6 devices were purchased with public investment funds, totaling 247 million VND, and passed technical acceptance before handover.
Officers and soldiers of Binh Duong Provincial Military and Political Affairs Department on a mission
Representing our company, Mr. Tran Van Son – Head of Technical Department, personally guided 12 officers and soldiers on the equipment usage procedures. The 4-hour training focused on practical scenarios such as switching between satellite and regular mobile networks, setting GPS coordinates without maps, and effectively using the SOS function.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Minh Tung – Head of the Rescue Team: “Previously, when conducting rescues in the Tây Ninh mountains or flooded areas in Đồng Nai, we often lost contact with the command center. These devices will help us maintain constant communication, ensuring the safety of both the rescue team and the victims.”
